Objectives
- Skill Partner: Become the Skill and Knowledge Development Centre of Kerala.
- Ecosystem: Establish a supportive ecosystem for skill development across the state, facilitating a knowledge society.
- Government Support: Provide support to the Government in establishing Skill Centres in key areas of the Knowledge Economy.
- Youth Development: Strengthen the skills, behaviors, and attitudes of the knowledge economy talent pool, particularly youth, to eliminate barriers to physical, human, and knowledge capital.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce acceptable standards for skill training in the state by creating a sound quality assurance framework for skilling.
- Unorganized Sectors: Build capacity for skill development in critical unorganized sectors and provide pathways for re-skilling and up-skilling workers in these identified sectors.
- Instructor Training: Develop a network of quality instructors/trainers in the skill development ecosystem by establishing high-quality teacher training programs.
- Social Support: Support weaker and disadvantaged sections of society through focused outreach programs and targeted skill development activities.
- Employability: Train students and the general population with skills that improve their employability.
- Technology Courses: Train Engineering graduates and Diploma holders in new generation courses like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Block Chain, Cyber Security, Data Science, Internet of Things, Virtual and Augmented reality.
- Soft Skills: Conduct Training on Soft Skills, Communication Skills, and basic accounting skills for Employers of Government departments.
- Vocational Training: Train rural people in the field of Electrical Wiring, Plumbing, Carpentry, Welding, Aluminium Fabrication, Embroidery Works, and Construction-related courses.
- Competitive Exams: Offer coaching for various competitive Examinations including KEAM, LET, and GATE.
- Civil Service: Conduct coaching classes for Civil Service Examinations.
- Banking: Reinforce and strengthen the training programs for Cooperative Bank employees in the context of the establishment of Kerala Bank.
- Thematic Areas: Design, formulate, and conduct training programs in the thematic areas of Renewable energy, Disaster management, Climate change, Precision agriculture, Urban farming, and Water resources.
- International Careers: Provide career guidance and training to the Students seeking international jobs.
- Language Courses: Conduct international language courses for those seeking jobs abroad.
- Higher Studies Abroad: Conduct eligibility tests for higher studies abroad.

The programme is for school going students including Plus Two in different parts of Kerala and the progamme is organized by SKDC Nodal Centres at various CAPE Engineering colleges.
